Trust & safety
Trust Gate now checks each shop’s PromptPay name against the owner’s ID card before it takes payments
6 October 2026 — Shops on Trust Gate must upload an ID card before setting PromptPay, and the team checks that the PromptPay account name matches the owner’s ID card before any invoice QR is shown to buyers.

From 6 October 2026, a shop that wants to be paid for direct purchase orders by PromptPay QR must first upload its owner’s ID card in the shop verification documents (a company paid in its own name can upload the bank-book page of that account instead), then enter its PromptPay ID and the account name its banking app shows.
The team types the PromptPay ID into a banking app to see the registered name (no money is sent) and compares it with the owner’s ID card or the company’s bank-book page. Only a match is approved. Until then the shop cannot confirm orders or issue invoices with a QR, and any later change to the ID or name is checked again.
Invoices show buyers the checked account name, so they can compare it with the payee name in their banking app before paying. The check confirms only that the account name matches the owner’s ID card; it does not guarantee the trade. Direct purchases remain an agreement between buyer and shop, and Trust Gate never receives or holds anyone’s money.
