How many cement bags on a pallet? How to work it out, and 6 things to ask before ordering by the pallet

The short answer: there is no fixed number. Bags per pallet depends on the bag weight, the brand and how the seller or plant stacks its pallets. Cement is commonly sold in 50 kg bags, and some general guides say a pallet usually holds about 35–50 bags (often around 40), but we found no Thai manufacturer specification confirming this, so always ask the seller how many bags are on the pallet they will send. To work out the weight, multiply bags × weight per bag, for example 40 bags × 50 kg = 2,000 kg. Before ordering cement by the pallet, check these six things.
1. Weight per bag and cement type — confirm the bag weight and the type of cement (for example structural-grade or masonry and plaster) so it fits the job. Do not compare prices per bag without comparing weight and type.
2. Bags and total weight per pallet — ask for the numbers and multiply them yourself. The total weight tells you what truck is needed and who has to unload it, and whether pallets can be stacked and how high.
3. Delivery to site — ask which areas are covered, how freight is charged, whether the truck can reach your site or lane, and the delivery time. Ask for a quotation with delivery included.
4. Unloading — ask whether the seller has a crane, forklift or crew to unload, or whether that is up to you. A pallet of cement is far too heavy to move by hand; if the bags will be put on the ground, prepare the space first.
5. Storage — cement is sensitive to moisture, so keep it dry, under a roof and off the bare ground. Ask when this lot was made and how long the seller advises using it within, since cement stored too long can harden into lumps.
6. Torn bags and claims — agree beforehand what happens if bags arrive torn or wet. Inspect and photograph on receipt, count the bags against the quotation, and keep every chat and delivery note.
